This past year was an incredible year for Lane Arts Council.
  • Students from Hamlin Middle School in Springfield were mentored by artists and learned about careers as a professional artist.
  • We are launching our new arts integration program this month at Oaklea Middle School in Junction City.
  • Thousands of people participated in our First Friday ArtWalk, mural bike tour, wine walk, UO ArtWalk, and ArtTalks.
  • Artists and arts leaders benefited from our workshops, co-sponsored by the City of Eugene.

Partnerships are the key to our success. Thank you to all of the artists, organizations, donors, volunteers, and civic and business leaders who make it all possible. Collectively, we contribute to building creative communities.

Thanks for all you do to support arts and culture in Lane County. I look forward to our continued partnership in 2015.

Warmly,
Liora Sponko
Executive Director

ARTS APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IS A HUGE SUCCESS!

Lane Arts Council connects Hamlin Middle School eighth graders with local professional artists through our Arts Apprenticeship Program. As the first term of the program comes to an end, students' showcased their ceramic creations, watercolor paintings, websites, and video production, created with the guidance of their mentors. The end results were impressive, but the best results were the students and mentors asking "Can we sign up again?"

The quality of instruction by the mentors was fantastic. They gave the students great technical knowledge as well as inspired them to foster their own creativity.- Hamlin Parent

This program is generously supported by the Oregon Arts Commission and the Springfield Education Foundation. For more information about this program or any of our arts education offerings, please contact Lauren Suveges, Arts Education Program Manager, at [email protected] or (541) 485-2278. Read More
