Many churches that Simplicity Ministries� serves each year are small churches.  The pastors of these churches are likely to be the only paid full-time minister or one of a only a few paid staff members. One reason Simplicity Ministries�

 

On November 2, Mike preached at FBC Gresham, OR while Pastor Shane Kinnison took some time off to visit his new grand baby in Texas.  

 

On November 9th, Mike preached at Hope Baptist in Missoula, Montana.  This little church was one of the first Mike served 16 years ago when Simplicity Ministries�was in its infancy. At that time, Mike met and partnered with Pastor Dan Taylor.  He and his wife, Terri, and their children continue to serve the Lord and the people of Missoula.  Also when Mike was at this church 16 years ago, the Lord birthed in his heart the teaching of Simple Evangelism which has since been used to train thousands across the NW and in the nation of Rwanda.  It was a special moment for Mike to stand to preach again in the pulpit of Hope Baptist Church.

 

On November 16, Mike and Debbie sang together, leading worship at Trinity Church, a young church plant in Clackamas, OR.  You did read that correctly.  This was the first time since Debbie was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis that Mike and Debbie have led a congregation in worship. God's marvelous grace and mercy allowed Debbie, who even as recently as mid June was still struggling to speak, to sing praises with full voice to the Lord Jesus.  It was a joyous day of celebration!  Our service at Trinity enabled church planter/worship pastor, Matt Singleterry and his family, some much needed time off.

Jesus said to Peter and his crew, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."  Jesus was clear.  If Peter, his crew, their vessels and equipment came under His authority, there would be a catch.  

 

In Christ, we are repurposed by our Lord to

participate with Him in the ministry of

reconciliation - catching men.  We must

respond to His command to "go fishing" with the same humble reply as Peter: "I will do as You say."  Our thoughts are not His thoughts and our ways are not His ways, but in obedience, we experience the miraculous, gracious work of our Savior.  

 

It was a joy for Mike to minister again with Jim Taber, Young Adult Pastor from Emmanuel Baptist in Billings, and his leadership team - along with worship band Urban Rescue out of Los Angeles - and obediently cast the net of the Gospel of

Conference in Missoula, MT. 

The messages the Lord led Mike to share and the songs and worship from Urban Rescue were used of the Lord to communicate the Gospel to the 230 in attendance.  On Friday night, there was a catch!  46 students responded professing faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  We never grow tired of seeing the Lord Jesus bring in a harvest of souls.  

 

It's exciting to catch men!  Cast your net in obedience!
