November Stellar Site:
Congratulations to the Aurora Sinai Women's Center, this month's Stellar Site. They are on pace to enroll their 100th woman into First Breath by the end of the year- a huge success for a site that started just 18 months ago! Thank you for your hard work and commitment to First Breath and the women you serve!

E-Cigarette Webinar
Electronic cigarettes are becoming more and more popular, and there are currently more questions than answers about them.  What is the current state of research, and how can you address these products with your participants?
Join us for a free webinar with Ryan Sheahan and Nina Gregerson of the Tobacco Free Columbia - Dane County Coalition on Thursday, December 4th. at 12:00pm (CST). By the end of this session, webinar attendees will be able to:
1) Describe current trends and the latest research regarding e-cigarettes
2) Educate pregnant women and their families about e-cigarettes.
3) Implement tools and techniques to address
e-cigarettes with patients.

There's Still Time!
There is still time for your patients to enroll into the Striving to Quit (STQ) research study. We are currently able to enroll women into STQ who have due dates prior to May 21, 2015 and enrolling into First Breath is the first step! Click here for a list of participating STQ counties.

playful-family-portrait.jpg

You may have heard a participant say 'Everyone I know smokes.' Even if she is able to quit, she is still exposed to second and third hand smoke by her friends and family. We know that smoking is associated with poor birth outcomes, but what do we know about how second and third hand smoke affects our health, and the health of the women and families we serve?
