Hartford Board Draws Demonstrators
Dissent Over Adult Education Proposed Location Change
In January 2012, Achievement First parents and children, 100-strong, persuaded the Hartford Board of Education to approve their high school expansion. This week, there was a different show of strength: More than 60 adult education students and supporters took their case to the Board, to fight the proposed move of the program to Capital Community College. The two events mark the highest levels of public advocacy seen at a Board meeting in recent memory.
