Dr. McIvor's sermon is "From What Are We Saved?" based on Acts 16.16-34. In Philippi Paul and Silas encounter a slave girl who has a "spirit of divination." She causes trouble for Paul and he casts out the evil spirit. But the girl's owners now can't use her to make money and they charge Paul and Silas with a crime. They are tossed in jail, but in the middle of the night an earthquake shakes open the prison doors. The jailer thinks his prisoners will escape and he'll be executed for negligence. So he attempts to kill himself, but Paul says, "Don't harm yourself. We're all still here." This leads to the jailer's being saved. It's quite an amazing story and it has a lot to say about what we are saved from.

Pentecostal Pancakes
May 19th at 9:30am
The Senior High Youth Group will be flipping pancakes and turning sausages from 9:30-10:30am. Please join us for breakfast and the single Pentecost service at 11:00am. Cost is $5/person or $15/family. Proceeds support the Senior High Youth Group Mission Trip to MATE this summer.

One Service Next Week
Next Sunday, May 19th, there will be only one worship service at 11:00am following the pancake breakfast.
Worship at Wingate
Join us next week at 1:00pm as we minister to God's older children at the Wingate Nursing Home. Volunteers are always needed. Middle Schoolers - Mark Your Calendars!
The Middle School Youth Group will have a Potluck BBQ on Sunday, June 2nd from 6:00-8:00pm (rain or shine!) at the Hamel's home - 35 Hawes Road, Sudbury. Please RSVP to Gail Hamel ([email protected] or 978-579-9551) and indicate what dish you will bring to share.
