On Wednesday, November 18th, United Way of Greater Kingsport announced it exceeded its 2014 Campaign Goal of $4 million through generous community contributions. "The wonderful people of our community have done it again! Kingsport is truly blessed to have so many citizens who are committed to improving the quality of life for all of our residents. Achieving this ambitious goal was only possible because of the huge heart that exists in our community," said John Perdue, UWGK board president, and superintendent, CM&S Division, Eastman.

Candace Sass-2014 UWGK campaign chair and technology process and productivity director, Eastman-also extended her sincere appreciation for the community's generosity: "We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to those individuals and organizations that have chosen to support the 2014 UWGK Community Campaign. With the dollars raised, the UWGK can continue its critical work of ensuring everyone in our community has the opportunity for a quality education, financial stability, and good health."

This year's campaign goal increased by $125,000 to support the development of solutions to today's most pressing problems in the areas of health and human services. "The contributions made by community members enable our 29 UWGK Member Agencies through their 44 programs and our Community Impact Initiatives, such as United WE READ, Life BRIDGE, and SeniorConnectKpt.org, to positively impact not just select individuals and families, but our entire community," added Danelle Glasscock, executive director, UWGK.

Donations are still being accepted through December 31, 2014. If you are interested in making a contribution, please visit the UWGK website www.uwaykpt.org, or send your contribution to the UWGK , 301 Louis Street, Suite 201, Kingsport, TN 37660.
