2013 Spun Gold Award
Award Ceremony: Thursday, August 22

Textile Center is pleased to announce Becka Rahn as this year's recipient:

an artist and ardent supporter of the fiber arts with a far-reaching and lifetime commitment to the field.

Becka's many contributions to the field of fiber arts include multifaceted educational initiatives and outreach - notably in her work for youth and her mentorship of educators, emerging artists, nonprofits, and schools. Her impact on our community has been immeasurable. With an eye toward innovation and new technologies, yet always incorporating textile traditions in both her occupation and artistic pursuits, Becka adeptly bridges the balance between the art and craft of textiles, bringing the community along in the process.

Textile Center is proud to honor Becka Rahn with this Spun Gold award of distinction.

youth programs
Summer's Cool Campaign for Youth

Textile Center is bustling with children ranging in age from 6-16 as they diligently work, learn, and create throughout this year's Summer Camp programs.

Each year, Textile Center hosts over 130 children in Summer Camps, and we continue to look for ways to expand the programming calendar. With your support, not only will the Summer Camps continue to present a variety of youth engagement in the fiber arts, but so too will our ongoing education classes keep growing and developing.

During the summer, Textile Center has set a goal of $12,000 for programmatic needs within our summer camp and educational programs. By going online, you can donate today to the Textile Center to help cover the costs of this wonderful summer program and much more.
