November Novel Writing Class Series - Class #4!
Novel Writing:
Ending at the Beginning

with Greg Garrett

Endings are--if possible--even more important than beginnings, and a badly-formed ending can spoil the effect you've spent 300 pages trying to achieve.

In this half-day class, we'll discuss how the ending of a novel differs from other kids of storytelling, consider varieties of endings (including plot resolutions, closing the character arc, and linguistic framing), and study some powerful examples of endings in literary and popular fiction. Most importantly, we'll talk about completing the circle--ending your story where you began so that readers can both see and feel a completed journey.
