THIS WEEK ...
at the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury
Greetings!
We invite you to worship with us this Sunday, July 21st at 10:00am

This week's prayers for morning and evening are included below.

Please remember that we will be following our summer worship schedule (worship each week at 10:00am) through Start-Up Sunday after Labor Day. Fellowship time immediately follows the service and is a perfect opportunity to join friends and meet new ones while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack.

Don't forget to check the master calendar for news about upcoming events and updates.
Worship this week, July 21st at 10:00am
Reverend Helsel's sermon is "The One Thing" based on Luke 10.38-42. The sermon discusses the story of Mary and Martha when Jesus comes to visit their house. While Martha is busy working, Mary sits at Jesus' feet and listens to him. When Martha complains, Jesus directs her attention to the work of Mary, saying she has chosen the better part. What can Jesus mean? Even if we know we are "worried and distracted by many things," what would the alternative look like? Come hear us explore the work of Mary and Martha and how both women help teach how we are called to live.

This Week's Prayers for Morning and Evening

Morning

Dear God, as I begin this day I renew my commitment to live as an agent of your reconciling love. Keep my actions holy, my thoughts blameless, and my intentions irreproachable. Let me be firm in the hope promised by the gospel, that my life may bear witness to Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen

Evening

Lord Jesus, the labors of the day are over and the evening rest begins. If I have been busy with too many things, return my thoughts to what is needful. At last, let me know the better part you have promised will not be taken away, that I may sleep in your peace and awaken with renewed attentiveness to your presence. Amen
