Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, 2013

Back on November 8, 2012, the International Institute of Buffalo hosted their local Academic WorldQuest competition, the first competition of the 2012-2013 Academic WorldQuest season. Just over five months later, the winner, East Aurora High School, and 43 other teams from across the country began the final leg of their Academic WorldQuest journey this week as they boarded buses, planes, and piled into cars to travel to Washington, DC for the 2013 Academic WorldQuest National Competition.

Before hashing out the details for this weekend, the National Office of the World Affairs Councils of America would like to thank all parents, teachers, chaperones, schools, communities, and World Affairs Council staff for your time and dedication to this program. Your commitment is the bedrock of Academic WorldQuest's success.

To the students, we thank you for the time you put into studying over the past few months. We thank you for the late night study sessions, the enthusiasm with which you read the World Economic Forum's 2011-2012 Global Competitiveness Report, and we imagine your team thanked you for volunteering to memorize The Global Competitiveness Index 2011-2012.

Know that your hard work and dedication to learning more about foreign policy and global issues is special, and we are inspired by that. In the pursuit of the Academic WorldQuest National Title, the work is truly the reward.

Without further ado, the National Office of the World Affairs Councils of America is proud to present the schedule for the 2013 Academic WorldQuest National Competition weekend.

Reminder: Dress for the Academic WorldQuest National Competition weekend is business casual (no jeans).
