Good Tuesday
Welcome back, I missed you last week but we were in the throws of moving and my "ends" were swallowed up by my "week between."

IT'S UP TO NEHEMIAH
We have begun a new series on the life and ministry of Nehemiah. If you have been following along you know that Nehemiah has been confronted by the devastating news of the tattered condition of his people and the battered condition of his home town. Both of these circumstances have compelled Nehemiah to discipline himself to prayer over a period of 4 months; only to find that the king has discerned his soul hurt and asked him what he might do.
This book provides us with great principles for dealing with impossible circumstances and difficult people. Join us this Sunday as we enter into his evaluation of the task at hand.
So Far, our BIG IDEAS:
  1. Praying people prove themselves capable servants and skillful leaders.
  2. Nehemiah models well the complete Christian who sets his own course upon compelling theology and then follows the logical consequences of that course laid in.

WHAT WE  LEARNED LAST WEEK!
This past SUNDAY the TNT club studied the young man Samuel. Samuel made clear choices that changes his life.
I did not have the benefit of attending AWANA as a child, but Debbie and I made sure that all of our children participated in this vital ministry during their younger years.  And as a part of the overall training that we provided,  AWANA has left its mark on their lives and prepared them for godly choices in adulthood. Dare to be different and lay in a principled plan for your children's character.  AND THAT'S WHAT UNFOLDED THIS PAST WEEK.

FROM THE TEXT--
"Hardly anything else reveals so well the fear and uncertainty among men as the length to which they will go to hide their true selves from each other and even from their own eyes."  Pg 101
Prayer... as necessary as air itself
The Marks of a healthy church!
Prayer is transforming.  Soon, some of you will contemplate the new year and make at least one resolution. Most of us will evaluate our year financially and either visit our accountant or prepare our own taxes with the goal of improving our overall financial health. But what about our spiritual life with Christ? What plans have we made to improve its quality and character? This is your November reminder that your life matters to Christ... Does His life matter to you?
I challenge you to do the hard work of prayer. Want some ideas to motivate your quest?
