FOCUS ON MISSION AND OUTREACH
at the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury
Greetings!
abandoned baby girl in Kenya
In April, Aileen Gardner volunteered at the Sally Test Pediatric Center in Eldoret, Kenya for the eighth time. In this month's Minute for Mission during Sunday worship, Aileen will share examples of children in the region whose lives have been changed for the better by the work of Sally Test Pediatric Center staff.  Examples include abandoned children who are cared for as long as needed in the center.

No child is turned away.

Join us on Sunday and learn more about this important program and how you can help. If you have questions for Aileen, feel free to contact her at [email protected].

Ministry at Wingate

Our ministry at Wingate is a very meaningful one for both the residents and the volunteers. Once a month PCiS provides the only Protestant worship service offered at Wingate Nursing Home in Sudbury. There are several Protestant residents representing quite a variety of denominations, and the smiles on their faces when they leave the service are worth every moment of volunteer time. We always welcome new volunteers. We gather at 1:00pm at Wingate on the third Sunday of each month, and the service starts at 1:30pm and lasts for 30 minutes. (Our next worship service is this Sunday, June 16th.) Volunteers give residents wheelchair rides to and from the service, read Scripture, offer the pastoral prayer, and/or serve communion once a quarter. New volunteers are paired with experienced volunteers until you "learn the ropes."

During the summer months, volunteers are especially needed.

If you have questions, contact Dr. Susan DeHoff at [email protected].

Miracle Kitchen

PCiS volunteers provide dinner at the Salvation Army Center in Framingham 8 times a year - the second Friday January, February, April, May, July, August, October, and November. This is the only meal of that day for our large group of guests.

New volunteers are always needed to make casseroles and serve dinner.  The time commitment is about an hour each time - be there by 5:30 to set up and finish around 6:30pm.

If you are unable to help serve but would like to contribute to the meal, please bring your casserole to PCiS before 12:00pm on that Friday and leave it in the fridge.

Sign-up sheets and recipes are posted in Fellowship Hall.

Contact Dottie Keene at [email protected] with questions or to arrange another drop off time.

Our next Miracle Kitchen is July 12th.
