HART WEEKLY eBLAST  | OCTOBER 17, 2014

RAIL GUIDEWAY TAKES SHAPE IN KAPOLEI

Workers are busy building the guideway for Honolulu's rail transit system and making excellent progress.

With each passing week, the rail guideway extends further east and west through Ewa and Kapolei.

To date, construction crews have erected more than 425 precast concrete guideway segments.

Workers at the casting yard are cranking out about a dozen of the segments every week.

And near the H-1/H-2 merge, workers are installing the pier table form and rebar atop a column where soon work will begin on constructing the rail guideway across the H-1 Freeway from Leeward Community College in Waipahu to Pearl Highlands along Kamehameha Highway.

HART urges motorists to exercise caution when driving through construction zones.
