This week, the City of Ariel entered yet another season of new beginnings.

Israel's academic school year commenced earlier this week. In Ariel, that means a flood of 15,000 ambitious students who will spend the year exploring, learning and growing both personally and as contributing members of Israel's ever-thriving society. "Friends of Ariel" wishes great success to our Executive Director, Avi Zimmerman, who has chosen to join the excitement and enroll in the Masters of Business Administration program here, at Ariel University.

"I would like to thank Mayor Eli Shaviro for encouraging me to pursue an advanced degree that will, I hope, benefit 'Friends of Ariel' and, by extension the City of Ariel and Ariel University" Avi explained. "Mayor Shaviro is leading the city and the university on a path of unprecedented mutual productivity. I'm excited to be able to enter the university's classrooms not only to showcase their work to curious visitors, but as a participating student who wants to know more."

With sincere wishes of behatzlachah (growing success) to each and every one of Ariel's students!
Ariel Has A New Twin-City

Mayor Shaviro has been consistently encouraged by Ariel's sister city relationship with Mobile Alabama, of which he speaks fondly. Members of the city council have come to appreciate the value of the sister city relationship, moving them to initiate yet another such relationship - this time, in a very different neighborhood of the world.

The "Shabbat Project" in Ariel

Higher Education Scholarships

Every year, Friends of Ariel and the Ariel Development Fund provide scholarships for residents of Ariel who study for their bachelor degrees in colleges and universities across Israel.

The scholarship committee requires and reviews basic criteria such as residency of at least 5 years in Ariel, personal need for financial aid and a genuine commitment to give back to the city. The academic school year has just begun, and the scholarship applications are on their way.

Now's your opportunity to give towards the academic scholarship program.
