Dear BraveHearts Friend

BraveHearts has just adopted our first mustangs from the Mustang Heritage Foundation - we are so excited!  Best of all, in the coming weeks we will be thrilled to have veterans coming to BraveHearts to work with our new mustangs.

Last weekend we were able to have BraveHearts represented at the sales to choose our mustangs.

The Mustang Heritage Foundation's mission is to increase successful adoptions of wild horses held in Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wild horse holding facilities. The BLM removes horses from the range in order to sustain natural resources (grass and water) necessary for the wild horses and other wildlife to live on public land. The Mustang Heritage Foundation works with horse people who have the knowledge, experience and facilities to gentle and or train a wild horse. Every time a horse is adopted and moved from BLM holding facilities, it saves taxpayers more than $10,000 per animal.

But more importantly, it transforms the wild horse into a  sensitive, yet hardy, authentic equine partner.
The horse is not the only one being transformed by the experience. Horse people find that working with a wild horse creates an unspoken bond while also improving their horsemanship skills.
The new mustangs are getting lots of grooming & attention! They were halter trained on their 1st day on training.
The Mustang Million is a competition for all adopted mustangs in 2013 where they will offer a substantial amount of prize money in classes for all levels.  BraveHearts' veterans, staff and volunteers will work together to train our new mustangs with the hopes they can compete in the Mustang Million in September 2013.

BraveHearts constantly strives to host innovative programming bringing out the best in both people and horses.
Day 1 of training - one of the mustangs is already wearing a saddle!

This is a tremendous opportunity for all of us. We hope you will visit our new mustangs, check in on their progress, or make a donation to BraveHearts for this journey which lies in front of our organization.

These creative programs are made possible through our  fundraising efforts.

We will keep you posted on both our veterans and our mustangs progress.  We also hope you will consider supporting this endeavor.
