Judi's Motivational Message
Find Purpose
We are being pulled in a million different directions, as parents, teachers, spouses, employees, and friends. This takes a ton of ENERGY! If you are anything like me, you sprint out the gate. But how do you keep that enthusiasm going? After reading "The Energy Bus", by Jon Gordon, my answer is you must find a PURPOSE!
My goal for the past few years was to become an ACE certified health coach. Tired of listening to the voices in my head of excuses, I posted it on Facebook to hold myself accountable. Now I had to do it! The test date was set, and the studying began. It would have been easy for me to just blow it off with so many reasons and excuses. But once I started, I realized I found a PURPOSE. I want to help facilitate change and be an active partner in unlocking the potential everybody has to live a healthy lifestyle. I hope to be a positive role model and supporter, as well as to display unrelenting commitment to each and every one of you.
The Workout 32789 team is going to have a brain training book discussion on Jon Gordon's book, " The Energy Bus", Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:30am. With the holidays around the corner, we want to make sure to help you stay on the right path of positive energy and getting rid of those energy sucking vampires!
Create an Incredible Life,
Judi

Brain Training
Book Club
Workout 32789 will be starting a new group activity this month to help spark some discussions on healthy living, mentally and physically. Our "Brain Training" Book Club is open to anyone in our workout family who wants to come and discuss our "book of the month".
This is a great way to share our feelings about the chosen topic and to see different points of view from your peers. We will be meeting Wednesday, December 3rd at
11:30 am to discuss a book that we feel would be beneficial to all, "The Energy Bus".
If you would like to participate, grab yourself a copy of "The Energy Bus" and read it before we meet in December. Feel free to bring a lunch or a beverage to the event but neither are required.

Recipe of the Month
Apple Currant Spoon Breads
Our very own, Hollis Wilder, was kind enough to provide us with one of our cook books, and we found a perfect recipe for the Fall!
We will be giving away a copy of her book soon, so keep an eye out for your chance to win!
Ingredients:
Nonstick cooking spray
12 frozen mini breakfast turkey sausage patties
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/3 dried currants
1 1/4 plain whole-milk yogurt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted & cooled
maple syrup, for serving Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 12-well classic cupcake pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place one sausage patty in each well of the pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the currants.
In a medium bowl, whisk the yogurt and eggs until well combined. Add the yogurt mixture and the melted and cooled butter to the dry ingredients; mix until just incorporated.
Mound the cornmeal batter in each well; they will be filled up to the top. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the spoon breads cool in the pan for 10 minutes then loosen the sides of each spoon bread with a table knife and insert the tines of a fork between the pan and each spoon bread to lift it out. Serve each of the spoon breads individually, sausage-side up, with a drizzle of maple syrup.
Store the spoon breads in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat, wrapped in tin foil, for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
