Tom Taylor's Take on Ebola and Misinformation
It's often said that older adults hold the knowledge of history that helps them give young people context for present events. In his guest post for our Together blog, Tom Taylor, a senior advisor to our Seniors4Kids initiative, pulls from his 80-plus years of wisdom to contextualize our present events, focusing on the Ebola outbreak, fears and possible solutions to misinformation. Grandparents, Grand Votes
In her new Huffington Post blog, Donna offers ways young and old can take part together on this Election Day and beyond. "Consistently demonstrating its importance is critical." Read Grandparents, Grand Votes

Culture United
Chrisley Knows Best

Inclusion in this section is not an endorsement from Generations United. Rather, it is a way of showing the multiplying  impact when the arts and pop culture are age-advantaged. This week's feature is Chrisley Knows Best, a USA Network reality show. The southern family patriarch and his wife are raising their mixed race grandchild. Learn more. Do you know of any films, books, music and TV shows with an intergenerational theme? Share them with us and we'll share in the weeks and months to come

We want to highlight innovative age-optimized programs and practices through our blog, social media and weekly e-newsletter! DisclaimerSpotlighting ideas does not imply Generations United's endorsement or recommendation, but rather encourages ideas to inspire other programs. Share the inspiration. In the News

An editorial in The Topeka Capital-Journal was on grandparents stepping up to raise their grandchildren when the parents are not present. Read "Kansas Department of Children and Families knows importance of grandparents."

Quote

"Because [grandparents] are usually free to love and guide and befriend the young without having to take daily responsibility for them, they can often reach out past pride and fear of failure and close the space between generations." ~President Jimmy Carter
