Worship this week, April 21st
|
Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Old Words, New Hope" based on Psalm 23.1-6. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." These words are among the most familiar in all of the English language. Even many who would not count themselves as particularly religious might know they are from Psalm 23. Ask families what scriptures they want read at memorial services for their loved ones and almost always they ask for Psalm 23. However, the psalm is less about when we die and more about living with hope because of God's gracious presence with us, even in the valley of the shadow.
