City Council Approves Funding for Hunter Road Construction

Westland, MI - Mayor William R. Wild is pleased to announce that the Westland City Council approved the funding for the 2nd and 3rd phase of construction on Hunter Road.

The project has been awarded to Florence Cement Company in the amount of $401,000 to be funded from the 2013-2014 Major Road Fund.

Phase 2 of the project will include the portion of Hunter Road between Wildwood and Apache and Phase 3 improvements will occur between Farmington and Venoy. Construction is slated to occur in July 2013.

"Hunter Road is a main artery connecting Wayne and Venoy and also serves as a bus route and has long needed these repairs," stated Mayor Wild.
