Worship this week, March 17th
|
 Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Mary or Judas?" based on John 12.1-8. A few days before he was crucified, Jesus dined in the home of his friend Lazarus (whom Jesus had just raised from the dead) and Lazarus's sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha served dinner, but Mary took a pound of perfume (it cost a year's wages) and poured it on Jesus' feet, wiping them with her hair. Then Judas complained that the perfume was wasted. He said it should have been sold and the money given to the poor. Jesus told Judas to leave Mary alone, but the interesting thing is that both Mary and Judas were disciples of Jesus. We are too, of course, but are we like Mary (extravagantly generous) or like Judas (exceedingly stingy)? Maybe a bit of both? |

Join us on Maundy Thursday, March 28th, for our Annual Soup Supper. We will meet in Fellowship Hall at 6:15pm and share a warm supper before the 7:30pm evening service.

We would like to beautify the Sanctuary for Easter Sunday with Easter lilies and spring flowers. It is a special way to honor or remember a loved one. The deadline for orders is Palm Sunday, March 24th.
