Keeping Prayer a High Priority

We trust that every church is sharing these prayer requests within their local prayer community. Here are this week's requests:

1 - Please lift up Dave and Cindy Aufrance as they return to the States from Hong Kong. Also, for the Long family as they try to sell their house so they can take Dave and Cindy's place while they are here.

2 - Please pray for Joe Kirby, who has been having heart problems, and his wife Mary as they decide which steps to take next.

3 - Praise! William Bertrand will finish the last of his radiation treatments this week. He thanks everyone for their prayers. God has been answering those prayers in remarkable ways! He hopes to return to Haiti in the next two weeks.

4 - Morningside Friends Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida has purchased property and plans to open a second campus in December. Please keep them in your prayers as they expand.

5 - Remember our leaders and representatives as they go to the EFC-NA Fall Meetings in Oregon this week. Participants include: Marva Hoopes and Krista Mitchell (Christian Ed.), Mike Dennis and Donna Neff (Communications), Quint Bryan and John Grafton (Youth and Summit 2014), Matt Chesnes and Chris Jackson (EFM), Heather Graham, Anita Williams, and Barb Miller (WMF), and Wayne Evans (General Council and Superintendents). Pray for safety as they travel and discernment in the meetings.

6 - Continue to pray for Pastor John Glenn as he recovers from surgery at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.

Trunk or Treat?
Morningside Friends Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida hosted a Trunk or Treat event this past weekend, and had around 2,500 people in attendance! Pastor Tom Crawford and Molly Colian at Morningside said, "Hundreds of families showed up for our annual Trunk-or-Treat event this year! We had nearly 50 trunks decorated with themes that passed out candy and interacted with the kids. Some themes this year were Frozen, American Girl, Iron Man, Disco Dancers, and Under the Sea Aquarium. Hot dogs, drinks, sno-cones, and popcorn were provided for free to the families. This year for the first time we also featured a "Stunt Jump," which people loved. We awarded our coveted title of "best trunk" to the trunk that received the most number of votes. The community loves this event every year because they know they can come and enjoy great food (for no cost), great fun, and a safe place to allow their children to trick or treat. We are always thankful for how the body of believers comes together for this outreach event." Several other churches including Alliance Friends and Damascus Friends also held similar outreach events.

Please send any stories and pictures from your church's "Trunk or Treat" or Harvest Festival to dneff@efcer.org.
