In Case You Missed It!
Here at Liberty Center, we love celebrating holidays- all of them, from Christmas to birthdays (yes, those count!) to Halloween. Holidays are a great reason to throw a party with great food and drinks, great music and great people.

We started our Halloween festivities early with some creepy cool costumed pinguins. In case you didn't notice them watching you and wondering what kind of costume you were wearing when you last came in, here's a group picture of them.

Liberty Laughs was next to join in on the Halloween themed fun. On Friday, the 24th, and Saturday, the 25th, Liberty Laughs hosted two Halloween themed comedy shows. Friday night was a Comedy Death Match where multiple comedians including Mark Rutherford, Jaye Toller, Travis Charles, and Anthony Thompson went head to head in hilarious rounds. After three grueling rounds, Travis Charles won the final match against runner up, Jaye Toller. Liberty Laughs favorite Kenny Wingle ended the night as headliner.

The week leading up to Halloween, Box Seats turned the upstairs space into a spooky, spider-webbed, and fake blood splattered haven. While their TV screens played black and white clips from old horror movies, three live bands took the stage. Opening the night was Emma Zinck, winner of 99.3's 2014 Country Idol. Next up was Unchained with high energy and classic dance music. And of course, last, but definitely not least was The Jerry Wade Band with a rocking set that got everyone on the dance floor.

Holiday Party Game Ideas
For the comedians: An improv game with a holiday twist is a great way to keep everyone entertained. Try a holiday variation of One Word at a Time which involves the whole group telling a story, but each person can only say one word at a time. The first person might say "Once" and the second might say "upon", the third, "a", but the fourth might say "pie". The goal is to go as quickly as possible, with little to no hesitation. It's okay if the story doesn't make sense, that's the fun of it! See what kind of unexpected surprises or characters show up in a retelling of a favorite Christmas story or holiday movie.

For the music lovers: It's going to get a little loud with this game, especially with larger groups. It's called Carol Singing in Pairs. First, a little preparation: you have to write down the names of holiday songs (whether they're Christmas, Hannukah, Thanksgiving, etc) on slips of paper. Make sure each song is written on two separate slips, so two people will draw the same song. Then everyone has to randomly draw a slip of paper. Once everyone has a slip, everyone starts humming the song written on their paper. The goal of the game is to find the other person who is humming the same song. The first ones to do so sing a verse of the song together and win!

For the kids: Pumpkin bowling! If you didn't know, we like to bowl. This seasonal twist makes for a great, amusing time. Pumpkins probably aren't as easy to roll as bowling balls, but they'll be that much more fun. To play, use smaller pumpkins that are more rounded. Then use an apple corer or a knife to cut out finger holes. For the pins, fill 10 2-liter bottles or smaller water bottles with some water. The more water you put in them, the harder they'll be to knock over. You could also use food coloring to dye the water festive colors like red and green or yellow and orange. See who can get the first strike or even a turkey!
