I have been working on improving job retention for over twenty-five years and I have trained over 10,000 people in my model that treats retention as both a pre and post employment service. In my role as the WIOA technical assistance consultant for the city of Oakland, I provided management consulting to Youth Radio to help them start organizing a BUSINESS ADVISORY BOARD. The Youth Employment Partnership used my consulting services to develop a model for BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT. The English Center used my consulting services to IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE with their immigrant and refugee clients. I helped Assets Senior Employment program IMPROVE THEIR PROGRAM DESIGN. The NAJA conference used my workshop sessions, HOW TO JUMP START THE JOB SEARCH SUCCESS OF THE LONG TERM UNEMPLOYED and HOW TO GO FROM PLACEMENT TO PARTNERSHIP WITH BUSINESSES! I have been doing consulting sessions with the grantees of REDF. REDF is one of the leading organizations in the social enterprise field. I have been providing CUSTOMIZED MANAGEMENT CONSULTATION sessions with the Weingart Center, CEO, Taller San Jose, Community Housing Partnership, Chrysalis, and Coalition for Responsible Community Development. The topics have included employer engagement, new ways to eliminate barriers to employment and organizing a business advisory board. We also covered improving job transition outcomes for people in social enterprises, increasing the profits of social enterprises and ways to improve staff satisfaction with their jobs.
